Policies

Activity and NPC status

Members are expected to stay active as per 'Souls' rules.

A member who wishes to put their character on aNPC status (absence NPC status) may request this from the leadership by PM'ing the AniWaya account. Leadership allows aNPC status at their discretion. Please note:

  • You cannot place your character on aNPC status if you intend to leave the board entirely.
  • If you have placed your character on aNPC status, and it stays there for more than 3 months, it will be removed from the ranks, so as not to have old characters cluttering the ranks.
  • Dates go by the official Drop thread.
  • If you have placed your character on aNPC status and then leave the board, it will be removed from the ranks, so as not to have old characters cluttering the ranks.

pNPC policies

  • pNPC's are playable by all characters in the tribe.
  • pNPC's cannot, in the same way NPC's cannot, appear on their own in threads. Your played character must be present.
  • pNPC's given to the pack cannot be reclaimed by players.
  • You may injure or even kill a pNPC, but only after requesting permission from leadership. Note that crimes committed in AniWaya will lead to consequences. It is your responsibility to investigate the possibilities and drawbacks of your plot.
  • Upon leaving AniWaya, you as a player are free to "give" your character, or their NPC, to the pack as a pNPC. Note that packs have a limit of 5 allowed pNPC's, and thus leadership will choose to accept or reject your offer.
  • You may advance a pNPC's rank through our rank system if you wish!

Pack participation

Members are epxected to participate in pack events, general pack life and pack threads. Consistent failure to do so might result in demotion as per AniWaya's IC laws for contribution.

Spirit Guide Policies

Obtaining your guide

  1. You may obtain your spirit guide only when your character is more than 6 months of age.
  2. Unless joining as a previous member of the Great Tribe, with a spirit guide, you must have been a member of AniWaya for more than 1 month total to obtain your spirit guide.
  3. A character can complete the required 1 month of membership (prior to acquiring a guide) at any time, non-consecutively. That is, if a member has at any point completed 1 month of total membership in AniWaya, leave and rejoin, they can take a spirit guide without waiting another month.
  4. A character leaving the board with their AniWayan character (who has a spirit guide) may re-gain their spirit guide immediately upon re-joining the board, so long as they re-join AniWaya directly and within 6 months of leaving. If the character has left AniWaya and in the meantime joined another on-board group (packs/loners), they will have lost their spirit guide.

Keeping your guide

  1. Upon leaving AniWaya, your character loses their spirit guide unless more than 6 consecutive (player-active) months have passed since your character obtained it.

Guide species

  1. Species that can shift (the canis family) cannot be Spirit Guides species
  2. Please try to remain with species that are native to North America. Exotic species may be approved, please ask your leadership!

Rank Policies

Below are general policies, with formal criteria for threads submitted for profession path advancement.

Advancement

...to the second stage (Skilled)

The skilled members in a community hold some prestige within the tribe. They are often asked to help others with tasks within their skill set, and depending on which path they've chosen, they may be sent from the pack temporarily as part of trade agreements, or to reinforce alliances. They may also be asked to perform or create something within their skill set for tribesmembers or outsiders.

  1. If you wish to advance to the second stage of your path, please present three example threads where you perform your duties as the first-stage title.
  2. Send the thread links and your request as a PM to the AniWaya account.
To be approved, threads must:
  1. Be focused on an activity clearly relevant to the present rank (f.ex. as seen in the descriptions).
  2. Be either:
    1. Completed and have 5+ posts (total)
    2. Incomplete, but have 7+ posts (total)

...to the third stage (Master)

To be approved for the Master rank, the demands are quite high. Other than showing particular dedication to the profession, your character's person must be fitting for such a rank. The rank holds great respect and prestige in the tribe, and Masters are often given the trust of the Chief, and may be expected to lead the tribe or parts of the tribe in the case that the Chief cannot. An immoral personality, or a personality not fit for leading (f.ex. overly nervous, evil), may not be approved for this rank. If you have doubts your character will fit for such a rank, PM the AniWaya account and ask before attempting to gain it.

  1. If you wish to advance to the third stage of your path, please present five example threads where you perform your duties as the second-stage title.
  2. Send the thread links and your request as a PM to the AniWaya account.
To be approved, threads must:
  1. Be focused on an activity clearly relevant to the present rank (f.ex. as seen in the descriptions).
  2. Be well-rounded and well written. We expect a certain level of effort for these threads, because of the nature of the rank!
  3. Be either:
    1. Completed and have 8+ posts (per player)
    2. Incomplete, but have 10+ posts (per player)

Other things to consider

- You cannot use a thread twice; one used for advancing once cannot be used for advancing the second time.
- Simply adding references to doing something relevant in a thread will not be approved.
- If your character works with their profession for only half the thread, you'll likely only get it approved halfway (0,5 "points").

Rank Challenges

You can choose to challenge someone for their rank. For example, if Player B wants to be Master Hunter, and Player A already has that rank (which only one character can hold), Player B can challenge Player A. In a rank challenge for a Master Rank, the two participants post for 1 month. The one with the most total threads relevant to the subject (not just posted in during that month, but in total, counting threads that have previously been used for advancement) at the end of the month holds the rank. Note that if you want to challenge a Master for the rank, you cannot be a Beginner - you must be Skilled.

Co-Rank policies

  • You must complete 1 relevant thread to pick up a co-rank, and you hold it for as long as you can/want until someone challenges it.
  • Read-only threads do not count towards co-ranks.
  • Threads used for advancement in your profession path can still be used to claim a co-rank. I.e. a thread can count for both.
  • If a challenger has more threads relevant to the co-rank, the co-rank will pass to them. Request change by PM (the co-rank can be won back)
  • You can hold two co-ranks.
  • Co-ranks must be requested by leadership either in the AniWaya Maintenance thread or by PM to the AniWaya account.

Games policies

Season Game

  • Every month has several tasks, of which you need to complete only one to claim a prize. Also, the first person to PM us and get it approved it each month, gets an additional prize!
  • Every season (3 months) has a set of tasks, of which you need to complete all to claim a prize. Also, the first person to PM us and get it approved each season, gets an additional prize!
  1. Threads should be submitted to the AniWaya account.
  2. Threads should be finished or near-finished/formidable in length if not.
  3. Submitted threads need approval: we expect a certain level of effort, and no reference made to the task in action will do; it needs to actually happen in the thread. Additionally, the main action of the thread should occur in the relevant month.
  4. Read-only threads are not accepted unless specifically stated in the task description.
  5. In the case of tasks being put up too late, extra time is given participants, equal to the number of days the task is late (7 days late = 7 extra days into next month).

Special considerations

  1. Puppies: It may be hard to complete the tasks as a puppy - we take this into consideration. However, you are free to complete tasks along with an adult member of the tribe, remember this!
  2. Slow threads/thread partners: We take this into consideration when approving thread :)

Points Game

The points you can earn are all listed in the Points Game thread in the AniWaya forum. Refer there to see how many points you can earn for different threads!

  1. Threads should be submitted to the AniWaya account.
  2. Threads should be finished (don't submit for each post, but for each thread).
  3. No points are added automatically - this is your responsibility!!

Points transfers

    Transfering from AniWaya
  1. You must submit your points claims within a week after leaving AniWaya so they can be included in the tally. Since players may be mid-thread in numerous threads in a leaving situation, it is acceptible to submit posts from unfinished threads.
  2. Unclaimed points after a week of leaving AniWaya are lost.
  3. So long as both packs' leadership is okay with it, the tally is transfered.
  4. You must request the transfer within a month of leaving AniWaya, or your tally is lost.
    Transfering to AniWaya
  1. Permission from the other pack must be granted.
  2. It is the character's tally that is tranfered. Unclaimed points is the player's responsibility. Go by joining date to AniWaya.
  3. The player can submit points for posts in unfinished threads made after the AW joining date until such threads are completed.
  4. You must request the transfer within a month of joining AniWaya

Idiom of the Week

  1. The idiom is valid for use once each week only, maxing 10 points a week. You may use it more often, but claim points for it only once.
  2. Claim the points, as with the points game, by PM'ing the claim to the AniWaya account.

Other

You have to have fun, or we will hunt you down. For serious.
