Craftsmen

The craftsmen of the tribe supply much needed weapons, traps, tools, huts and sometimes music instruments, books or other rarities. Craftsmen choose their own specialty (for example stone working, cloth making, wood working, toolmaker or carpenter), and no particular range is required in order to become a Master, although the Master Weapons Crafter is a special rank, mostly because certain weapons are particularly important to the tribe for both warfare and hunting, such as the bow and the spear.

Gatlvska

Five characters
Translation: Craftsman

Those of the very bottom of the Crafting tree. Gatlavska are trained and mentored by those above them in their tree. Gatlavska is a starting title and requires no other title to be held.

Main tasks
- Collecting materials for use with their own craft, or on behalf of the higher ranked craftsmen.
- Often runs errands for the higher ranked craftsmen, such as inter-tribe trades and delivery of completed items.
- As a student, much of their time is spent trying to progress in their chosen field.
- Collaborates with the Fire Makers in making torches.

Skilled rank

Equa Gatlvska

Three characters
Translation: Adept Craftsman

The members of the tribe who are becoming more efficient at their craft. They have specialized further and have more responsibilities within their profession path. To become an Equa Gatlvska, one must first hold the title of Gatlvska.

Main tasks
- Responsible for making simple everyday tools, depending on the focus of their chosen craft.
- Study under the Master Craftsmen.
- Creating objects when tribesmembers request them (special requests etc).
- Teaching any apprentice they may have.

Master ranks

Gadui Gatlvska

Three characters
Translation: Master Craftsman

A member who has proven to be a Master of their trade. The Gadui Gatlvska is of the few professions there can be many masters, because craftsmen can focus on any craft, such as building houses, making clothing, or building general working tools. To become the Gadui Gatlvska, one must first hold the titles of Gatlvska and Equa Gatlvska.

Main tasks
- Responsible for creating and maintaining the items that are the focus of their chosen trade.
- Collecting material which they require for their work.
- Tutoring any apprentices they may have.
- On call duty and the go-to person to get items repaired.

Mark and relic

Characters who reach the Master rank also receive a master's brand in the form of a dyed or tattooed color pattern either on their chest, face or an arm (or similarly visible place), as well as a relic, to symbolize clearly their ranking and powerful position in the pack hierarchy. In the case that there are more than one master in a profession, the most prominent one keeps the mark and relic, and the rank can be challenge for.
Mark: The golden hammer.

It's color symbolizes many things:

  • Dexterity: For the power to turn any material into something with the worth of gold.
  • Interdependence: For the tribe depends on the craftsman's tools to progress.
  • Luxury and pleasure: The items that are crafted for the tribe are meant to enforce the cycle of duty--hard work is rewarded with well-earned amenities.
 Relic: The relic of the Gadui Gatlvska is an elaborately carved wooden knife with a stone blade. It is decorated with paints in hues matching the mark and is generally not an item for use. It is quite old and a recognized symbol with several tribes. It symbolizes at the same time the tools of a craftsman's profession, and, sometimes, the result.

Kanogeni Gatlvska

One character
Translation: Master Weapons Craftsman

A member who has proven to be a true Master of their trade, specifically in the field of weapon making. This Master knows how to build reliable weapons of a large number of varieties. To become the Kanogeni Gatlvska, one must first hold the titles of Gatlvska and Equa Gatlvska.

Main tasks
- Responsible for creating weapons for the tribe members, in particular in cooperation with the hunters and warriors.
- Collecting material for use in weapon making.
- On call duty and the go-to person to get weapons repaired, and often other objects that might be related, such as certain tools.

Mark and relic

Characters who reach the Master rank also receive a master's brand in the form of a dyed or tattooed color pattern either on their chest, face or an arm (or similarly visible place), as well as a relic, to symbolize clearly their ranking and powerful position in the pack hierarchy. Mark: The combination of the Master craftsman's golden hammer and an arrow symbolizes the Master Weapons Craftsman's tight bond to the Warriors of the tribe, as well as their own crafting profession.

It's color symbolizes many things:

  • Dexterity: For the power to turn any material into something with the worth of gold.
  • Dependence: For the weapons that are crafted enables the tribe to fend for themselves if needed.
  • Success and happiness: The weapons that are crafted are not always for war, but are more often to ensure that the tribe is safe, sustained, and surviving.
 Relic: The relic of the Kanogeni Gatlvska is an elaborately crafted leather belt. Its buckle part is intricately woven and ornamented with colorful beards and some feathers that hang from it. Its size and shape causes it to cover most of a wolf's stomach when worn (sort of like a wrestler's belt), but also serving as a form of decoration. Little pockets and hoops line the front of the leather part of the belt, making room for tools and materials.
