Policies

Profession paths

Below are general policies, with formal criteria for threads submitted for profession path advancement.

Advancement

...to the second stage (Skilled)

The skilled members in a community hold some prestige within the tribe. They are often asked to help others with tasks within their skill set, and depending on which path they've chosen, they may be sent from the pack temporarily as part of trade agreements, or to reinforce alliances. They may also be asked to perform or create something within their skill set for tribesmembers or outsiders.

  1. If you wish to advance to the second stage of your path, please present three example threads where you perform your duties as the first-stage title.
  2. Send the thread links and your request as a PM to the AniWaya account.
To be approved, threads must:
  1. Be focused on an activity clearly relevant to the present rank (f.ex. as seen in the descriptions).
  2. Be either:
    1. Completed and have 5+ posts (total)
    2. Incomplete, but have 7+ posts (total)

...to the third stage (Master)

To be approved for the Master rank, the demands are quite high. Other than showing particular dedication to the profession, your character's person must be fitting for such a rank. The rank holds great respect and prestige in the tribe, and Masters are often given the trust of the Chief, and may be expected to lead the tribe or parts of the tribe in the case that the Chief cannot. An immoral personality, or a personality not fit for leading (f.ex. overly nervous, evil), may not be approved for this rank. If you have doubts your character will fit for such a rank, PM the AniWaya account and ask before attempting to gain it.

  1. If you wish to advance to the third stage of your path, please present five example threads where you perform your duties as the second-stage title.
  2. Send the thread links and your request as a PM to the AniWaya account.
To be approved, threads must:
  1. Be focused on an activity clearly relevant to the present rank (f.ex. as seen in the descriptions).
  2. Be well-rounded and well written. We expect a certain level of effort for these threads, because of the nature of the rank!
  3. Be either:
    1. Completed and have 8+ posts (per player)
    2. Incomplete, but have 10+ posts (per player)

Other things to consider

- You cannot use a thread twice; one used for advancing once cannot be used for advancing the second time.
- Simply adding references to doing something relevant in a thread will not be approved.
- If your character works with their profession for only half the thread, you'll likely only get it approved halfway (0,5 "points").

Rank Challenges

You can choose to challenge someone for their rank. For example, if Player B wants to be Master Hunter, and Player A already has that rank (which only one character can hold), Player B can challenge Player A. In a rank challenge for a Master Rank, the two participants post for 1 month. The one with the most total threads relevant to the subject (not just posted in during that month, but in total, counting threads that have previously been used for advancement) at the end of the month holds the rank. Note that if you want to challenge a Master for the rank, you cannot be a Beginner - you must be Skilled.

Co-Rank policies

  • You must complete 1 relevant thread to pick up a co-rank, and you hold it for as long as you can/want until someone challenges it.
  • Read-only threads do not count towards co-ranks.
  • Threads used for advancement in your profession path can still be used to claim a co-rank. I.e. a thread can count for both.
  • If a challenger has more threads relevant to the co-rank, the co-rank will pass to them. Request change by PM (the co-rank can be won back)
  • You can hold two co-ranks.
  • Co-ranks must be requested by leadership either in the AniWaya Maintenance thread or by PM to the AniWaya account.
